Eligibility

 

In order to register, the application must be accompanied by the following documents:

1.Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Therapy;

2.Original transcripts;

3.Certificate of equivalence from KY.S.A.T.S.;

(Note: NOT required for graduates of public and private universities in Cyprus);

4.Certificate/Attestation of completion of clinical practice/internship from the relevant University;

5.Colour photocopy of a valid ID or Passport clearly showing the photograph and details of the applicant;

6.Recent passport-type photograph (full-face, directly facing the camera);

7.Original Certificate of Clear Criminal Record issued within the last 3 months and valid at the time of application. In case the applicant has been residing in Cyprus for more than 6 months, the Certificate of Clear Criminal Record must be issued by the Cyprus Police. In case of shorter stay, the certificate must be issued by the applicant’s country of origin;

8.For foreign applicants: a certificate of registration and practice of Speech-Language Pathology, valid according to the legislation of the applicant’s country of origin (where the applicant is or has been practicing Speech-Language Pathology).

 

*The documents referred to in points 1-6 must be original or true copies.

 

Important notes:

Ø  All accompanying documents issued by an authority or organisation of another state must be duly certified in accordance with the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Ratifying) Law of 1972 (Apostille).

Ø  If the accompanying documents have been issued by an authority or organisation of a State which has not ratified the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents, concluded at The Hague on 5 October 1961 (Apostille), they must bear a diplomatic certification.

Ø  Where the accompanying document requested is a copy, it must be certified in the same way.

Ø  All documents submitted with the application must be in Greek or English. Otherwise they must be accompanied by an official translation into one of these languages.

Ø  Pursuant to subparagraphs (1) and (2) of Article 7A of the Registration of Speech-Language Pathologists (Amendment) Law of 2021, a very good knowledge of the Greek language is required for practicing the profession anywhere in the Republic.

Ø  In order for the applicants (whose mother tongue is not Greek) to prove their proficiency in Greek, a certificate of success in the examinations conducted by the Examinations Service of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth is required or any certificate or attestation proving the level of very good knowledge of the Greek language from another recognised body from the country of origin of the applicant.

 

You are hereby informed that in the context of the implementation of Directives 2005/36/EC, 2013/55/EC and 2006/123/EC and the harmonising legislation Law 31(I)2008 and Law 76(I)2010, respectively, the Council, for the purpose of simplifying the procedures and administrative cooperation required for the examination of an application for membership, may, through the Internal Market Information System (IMI), request and obtain information concerning the applicant from the Competent Authority of another Member State where the applicant has declared that he/she is a registered member.
